Dr. Charles is a board-certified family physician. She provides comprehensive primary care for patients of all ages and genders, from newborns to geriatrics.
She understands that health is holistic and encompasses mental, social, and environmental factors that affect one's wellness. Because the traditional medical model has been a source of trauma and harm for many individuals (especially those marginalized by their race, gender, sexual orientation, and/or disability), Dr. Charles aims to provide medical care that is justice-minded and patient-centered. Her philosophy of care is rooted in the belief that therapeutic patient-clinician relationships begin by trusting her patients as experts in their own bodies and experiences. From this foundation, she supports patients in behavior changes that reduce risk of disease, and works with them to choose medications and other therapies that help them achieve their health goals.
